Merchants of Seaside
You probably won’t see Truman walking around this idyllic white picket fence village, but you’ll always find a plethora of picture-perfect shops, restaurants and art galleries in South Walton’s famous Seaside.
After a mimosa breakfast at Great Southern Cafe, grab a cup of free-trade coffee at the locally-owned Amavida before diving headfirst into the shops of Seaside (including Perspicacity’s colorful open-air market).
Grab some lunch — or perhaps a healthy smoothie — at one of Seaside’s famous Airstream food trailers. As the sun heats up, grab a good novel from Sundog Books, and then stake out a shady spot in Ruskin Place among the half-dozen art galleries and twisting oaks. Or, spend a creative afternoon with the kids getting Fired-Up, then let them make a fashion statement at Snap Tweens.
Later, drop into Modica Market and pack your picnic basket for that night’s free outdoor concert, or grab your tickets for a performance at Seaside’s fabulous Repertory Theatre (“The REP”). Wrap up the night toasting another successful sunset at Bud and Alley’s, a Seaside institution, or in one of Seaside’s many other great restaurants and wine bars.
