And They’re Off ... Thousands of Runners Take Part in Seaside Race

Thousands of runners lined up on a chilly Sunday morning in Seaside for the 2016 Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K.

The race benefits the Seaside Neighborhood School, a non-profit charter school located in Seaside.

From the starting line:

The race is one of the most beloved annual events in South Walton, drawing some of the top runners in the Southeast as well as plenty of groups of women getting away from it all for a healthy weekend at the beach. (one big draw is the Vera Bradley bags that go to every participant!)

Brandi Moody from Montgomery, Ala., tells us all about it:

For the second year, the Taste of the Race food and cocktail party was held on Friday night before the race. Chef Emeril Lagasse hosts along with chefs from some of the best local restaurants.
