Music, Comedy, Kids Entertainment: The REP Theater Has Something for Everyone This Spring

With a 15-year reputation of bringing live music, theater, and interactive fun for the young and young-at-heart along 30A, The REP once again is offering a tremendous spring line-up.

Check out these upcoming live concerts and stage productions with interesting twists, improv workshops, and theater camps and free plays and interactive performances for kids and families almost every day of the week along 30A.

‘Live at The REP’ Spring Concert Series

Soulful art-pop singer Rachael Sage will be performing on Thursday, March 26. Local favorite Callaghan returns to The REP after another smash performance on Thursday, April 2. Harpeth Rising fuses Folk, Newgrass, Rock and Classical into a  unique sound on Friday, May 1. Veteran American vocalist, singer-songwriter and voice actor Dan Navarro will perform on Friday, May 29.

 When: 7:30 p.m. on March 26, April 2, May 1 and May 29

 Where: The REP Theatre in Seaside

 Tickets: $25

Seaside Programs:

Theatre Camp!

Designed for ages 7-11 from 12-1 p.m. and Ages 12 and up from 1-2 p.m., this camps offers students a chance to learn the basics of improv comedy and to create solid scene work and fun characters. The students will also learn different types of improv games and formats while exploring their own creativity and how group trust and teamwork make for an amazing and hilarious improv experience.

 When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, March 10 – April 17

 Where: Seaside Meeting Hall Theatre.

 Tickets: $20 per class or $50 for a 3-class week pass

The Commedia Robin Hood

The merry troupe, Columbina, Arlequino, Punchin and Rosetta tackle, tumble, trick and trip their way through the tale of Robin Hood with fantastic abandon. Get ready for action-packed clowning with puppets, singing, patter verse and mock combat in this unforgettable adaptation. The Commedia Robin Hood is graciously sponsored by The Seaside Merchants.

 When: Mondays from 5 to 6 p.m., March 9 – April 13

 Where: Seaside Amphitheater

Stories by the Sea

Join The REP Theatre professional actors as they present an interactive and one-of-a-kind storytelling experience for children of all ages.

 When: Monday through Friday from 3:30 –  4 p.m. from March 9 – April 10

 Where: Seaside Lyceum Archway

 Tickets: FREE

Rosemary Beach:

Sleeping Beauty

In this twist on the beloved fairy tale, a traditional storyteller reading from this all-too-well-known book of Sleeping Beauty is quickly usurped by the story’s feisty villain, the evil Griselda. Sponsored by the Merchants of Rosemary Beach.

 When: Wednesdays from 5 – 6 p.m.from March 11 – April 8

 Where: North Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach

Alys Beach:

Adventures in Alys

Join The REP for a completely original storytelling experience for children of all ages. Enjoy a new, one-of-a-kind Adventure in Alys, created by the audiences, and maybe even join in the stories yourselves!

 When: Monday  and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., March 16 – April 13

 Where: Fonville Press at Alys Beach

 Tickets: Free for all ages

Intro to Improv

Don’t miss the introduction to improv comedy workshop with actors from The REP! The improv workshops are all about having fun and learning to think on your feet.

 When: Thursdays from 10 – 10:30 a.m., March 12 – April 9

 Where: Fonville Press at Alys Beach

 Tickets: Free for all ages.
