NEW BOOK! “Meet Me on 30A” by Susan Vallee

We are super-excited to announce that our very first 30A book is now hitting local shelves! The book — published by Southwestern Publishing Group — is entitled Meet Me on 30A and it’s written by long-time local resident and author Susan Vallee.
In the book, Susan delicately blends together Old Florida village life with New Urbanism’s resorts and towns, protected habitats and pristine beaches, as only someone who enjoys it every day could do. But Susan’s certainly not the only local who helped pull together this gorgeous 128-page book.
“The book features stunning images by so many world-class photographers,” said 30A’s Mike Ragsdale, who wrote the book’s foreword. “The book also features over two dozen recipes from 30A’s top chefs and restaurants.”
The book features photography by Lauren Alsobrook, Brandon Babineaux, Jamie Conley, Tommy Crow, Amanda Fagan, Jack Gardner, Sheila Goode, Paul Johnson, Shelly Swanger, Jay Thomas, Jacqueline Ward and Dawn Chapman Whitty among others. The dozens of images found throughout the book perfectly capture the unique beauty of 30A’s communities, rare coastal dune lakes, state parks, local restaurants and shops, signature annual events, and of course, Scenic 30A’s pristine white-sand beaches.
Susan Vallee [Photo: Sheila Goode]The new book also features some of 30A’s top restaurants and culinary talents, including recipes from 723 Whiskey Bravo, Acme Ice House, Another Broken Egg, Bud & Alley’s, Cafe Thirty-A, Cowgirl Kitchen, Fish Out of Water, George’s at Alys Beach, Grayton Beach Catering, Great Southern Cafe, Havana Beach, Hurricane Oyster Bar, La Cocina, La Crema, Local Catch, Marie’s Bistro, Raw & Juicy, Seagar’s, Shades, Signature Catering of 30A, Stinky’s Fish Camp, Summer Kitchen, The Marigny and Vue on 30a.
“I’ve been visiting the 30A area for over 25 years and have always felt that there is nowhere in the world I’d rather visit,” said Publisher Dave Kempf of Southwestern Publishing Group. “Meet Me on 30A really does capture the uniqueness of the area.”
“The book is really a Who’s Who of 30A talents, and we hope it will help our 30A fans discover new places every time they visit,” said Ragsdale. “Meet Me on 30A will no doubt have a very long shelf life, and we’re really grateful to Susan Vallee, and to all of the locals who helped us tell the 30A story.”
